WORSHIP TEAMS


Altar Guild

To set God's table is an amazing ministry. Our Altar Guild prepares the altar and elements for the next service. As well as prepare the church for high holy days.  If you love to work behind the scenes this is the perfect ministry.

Choir/Choral Anthem Project 

We love to sing at Redeemer! If you would like to be a part of our choir we practice at 10:15 am every Sunday Morning. Join us! 

Greeters

Our greeters welcome parishioners and visitors to Redeemer Sunday mornings. They are the smile that starts off our worship and there for anything you may need. If you enjoy meeting new people and brighten the day of others consider joining our ushering team. 

Chalice Bearers

Our Chalice Bearers serve along with

Fr. Joslin during our service. They help with preparation of the feast of the Eucharist and during communion.  Training can happen at your convience just ask Fr. Joslin for a time to meet. 

Hospitality Guild

Our Hospitality Guild extends a helping hand to our visitors and parishioners.  Assisting with any quetions someone may have or a warm welcome during coffee hour.  This is a great ministry to do with a friend as a team. 

Lectors

To proclaim the weekly lessons to our congregation is an important part of our Sunday services. The readings for the next Sunday are in our weekly news so there is time to familiarize yourself with the readings.  If you enjoy speaking in public and would like to take a supportive role as we Celebrate the Eucharist please let us know.  


Leadership


Bishop's Committee

Our Bishop's Committee meets once a month to plan events and new ideas for Redeemer literigically, spiritually and finacially. This a great group of people discussing ideas to keep the wheels of the church in motion. If you would like to be a part of this committee please

Building and Garden Guild

Redeemer is a beautiful house of God inside and out. Gardens that have been created, extended and tended to by generations of parishioners.  Like any home there is occasional maintiance that needs to be done.  If you are handy or love to garden please let us know.

Stewardship Commitee

Our stewardship committee meets with Fr. Joslin to develop at plan to set finacial goals for the upcoming year and brainstorms ideas on our to achieve that goal.  Committee members work as a team to reachout to our Redeemer family.


Social and Educational Happenings


Bible Pondering and Conversation

Our Bible Study is stimulating conversation on both the New and Old Testments.  Excerpts of the Bible are choosen and then we meet for thought provoking discussion.  Meetings are currently happening via Zoom. The links for these meetings can be found in our weekly news.

Coffee Hour

Fellowship is very improtant to Redeemer Parishioners. We love to catch up with each other, even during the Corona season, unfortunatly Redeemer is not having coffee hour at this time. 

 Share a cup of coffee with a friend over phone, it is important that we keep connected during this time.

Episcopal Epicureans

We gather for fine food and fun! Our themed gatherings inspire a tasty pot luck styled meal to share. We come together to share the gifts God has given us, food, fellowship and laughter. 

Little Food Pantry

Our community food pantry is located on the Westphalia Ave. side of church. It is open 24/7.

Take if you need.

Outreach Ministries


Art In The Garden

 

Local Artists Supporting Local Causes.

Our Annual Art Show, Sale and Salon happens in September.  With the generosity of many local artists this fundraiser generates funds that are donated to local outreach in our community. If you are an artist that would like to be involved contact the church office here for details.

 

Centro Franciscano

Rev. Fr. Gerardo Romo

Centro Franciscano is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.  More than a place it is the community learning, getting empowered, growing in faith and social consceice.  Led by Fr. Gerardo Romo, Bishop's Vicar for Hispanic Ministries on the East End.  We are located at 573 Roanoke Ave, Riverhead.

Common Ground

Neighbors helping Neighbors that is what happens in the Common Ground garden.  Fresh produce is grown for our neighbors in need.  Stop by and see us at Treibor Farms located at 38320 County Road 48, Peconic. If you love to garden stop in and say "hi" and see whats is growing in our garden.

John's Place

Feeding those less fortunate in our community is John's Place at Mattituck Presbyterian Church.  Redeemer hosts the first Thursday of the month from November to April.  There are many way to be a part of this ministry food items can be dropped of at Redeemer during the week or Mattituck Presbyterian that afternoon. Julia Dantes, Patricia Feiler and Barbara Wasilausky chair this committee.

Laundry Love

The Laundry Love initiative offers support to people who are struggling finacially by assisting them with their laundry costs so they can redirect their funds toward food, gas or basic nessecities.  We meet the 1st Sunday of the month at the Mattituck Laundry after our 11:00 service.

Sunday Supper

Noursihment To Go.

During the season of Corona, there is a great deal of need for food that nourishes our body and soul. We invite those who wish to come and take home a health-giving meal, lovingly prepared. This project is a joint effort of North Fork Episcopal Ministries, CAST and Breaking Bread Outreach.

This program is currently on hold and we will let you know when it will resume.

Evensong Project

Film + Spirit

Meet for a movie at Holy Trinity in Greenport.  We feature movies that inspire conversation.  Our Friday night movies last about an hour and for those who would like to stay we have a round table discussion.  Free popcorn is served.

Tai Chi

Our Tia Chi classes happen at Holy Trinity in Greenport.  Stay tuned for when class will resume.

Yoga/Meditation

Chair Yoga and Meditation led by Darren Mignone Monday's at 6:00 pm via zoom. Come stretch your mind, body and soul in fellowship of friends.
